The Obagi Blue Peel is a procedure that removes thin, surface layers of aged and damaged skin and promotes the creation of healthy new ones. The process smooths the surface of the skin, improves skin tone and color, diminish wrinkles and shrinks pore size.
Blue Peel
The procedure takes less than an hour and does not usually require sedation. Your skin care physician will apply the Blue Peel typically to your face and neck.
A mild burning sensation will occur that generally lasts only a few minutes. Then you may experience a bluish tint to your skin that usually washes off in 12 to 24 hours. Your skin care physician will advise you on how many peels are needed to give you the desired result.
Depending on the strength and depth of the peel, you will experience light swelling following the procedure. Within 2 to 3 days, your skin will begin to peel. This peeling continues over the next several days. By Days 7 to 10, your skin should be healed.

The Importance of Post-peel Care
After a treatment with Blue Peel RADIANCE, you will need to care for your skin to maximize and maintain results. The single most important thing to remember after any chemical peel is to wear non-chemical sun protection (SPF 30 or higher) at all times. Obagi recommends Sun Shield Matte Broad Spectrum SPF 50 or Obagi Nu-Derm® Physical UV Block SPF 32. Be sure to ask your aesthetic physician about these products.
Obagi has developed an After-care Card especially for you. Your skin care physician should provide this card to you after a peel. For your convenience, you may also download the After-care Card below.
*Generally a series of 4 to 6 peels provides best overall results.
